Get to Know our Staff: Robert Moore, Engineering
What is your role at Scottish Rite for Children?
I’m a maintenance mechanic in the Engineering department in Frisco. Throughout my day, I perform preventive maintenance on the equipment, complete work order requests and monitor, inspect and perform other tune-ups in order to properly maintain the facility.
What do you enjoy most about Scottish Rite?
I enjoy the great energy of my coworkers. Everyone goes above and beyond to satisfy the needs of our patients and their families. I also enjoy running into previous patients, outside of work, and hearing about how Scottish Rite changed their life for the better and how grateful they are.
What was your first job?
My first job was mowing lawns for elderly or others in the community after school and on the weekend. I enjoy the work that I do because there is always something new to do or figure out.
What are you currently watching on Netflix/Hulu/TV/etc.?
I just finished the second season of Snowpiercer.
What would be the most amazing adventure to go on?
I would love to go on an African safari.
What are some small things that make your day better?
My day typically gets better just by having a positive and caring attitude along with a smile on my face.
What is special about the place you grew up?
I grew up in a small town in Louisiana. I really enjoy the countryside. It is a great place just to let go and the enjoy open land.
What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not working?
I really enjoy nature - going fishing, cycling and spending time with family outside.
