SUMMARY:Crayon Club Crawfish Boil
DESCRIPTION:Join Crayon Club for their annual crawfish boil event hosted at Community Beer Co.\, on Thursday\, April 9\, 2026. Tickets can be purchased online for $25\, or at the door for $30. Red Crayon Level Members can purchase tickets for $20. Blue and Green Crayon Level Members receive free entry with their membership and can reserve their spot online also using the register button. Tickets include crawfish\, jambalaya\, and two drink tickets. \nCommunity Beer Co. has kindly discounted their space\, and our friends at Nate’s Seafood have generously donated the food again this year. There is parking in front of the brewery and additional parking across the street at the Pegasus Park Building. \nCrayon Club was established to unite young professionals dedicated to improving the lives of children. Together\, through volunteerism\, education and philanthropy\, Crayon Club supports the mission of Scottish Rite for Children.

It’s possible you are feeling overwhelmed or seeking informational resources or maybe a community to help support you and your child. \nThe Hand in Hand support group strives to improve the lives of parents and their children with congenital hand and upper limb differences by creating a community. The support group seeks to promote acceptance\, provide knowledge\, facilitate connections and foster independence. DESCRIPTION:Presented by the staff of the Orthopedic Department at Scottish Rite for Children\, this one and one-half day course will focus on state-of-the-art treatment protocols and current research conducted by the residents\, fellows and staff physicians at Scottish Rite for Children. \nThe program will utilize case presentations and question/answer format. Faculty are also invited from across the country to share their research and practice protocols. Shea\, M.D.\, is an orthopedic surgeon at Stanford University Medical Center and the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. Dr. Shea grew up in Montana and California\, graduated from the UCLA School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He is the current president of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA). He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendars for August 29 at Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas. The annual CP Conference will feature Dr. Peter Rosenbaum. Rosenbaum is a professor of pediatrics at McMaster University\, a former Canada Research Chair in Childhood Disability and co-founder of the CanChild Centre for Childhood-Onset Disability Research. \nDuring the keynote address\, Dr. Rosenbaum will share insights on family-centered service and the F-Words for Child Development: Functioning\, Family\, Fitness\, Fun\, Friends and Future. He also will discuss the ENVISAGE program and why family is central to work with children. In addition to Rosenbaum’s keynote\, participants will learn about clinical comparative effectiveness research and review educational content and modules being developed for the CP-TRAIN project. \nDon’t miss this opportunity to learn from a leading voice in childhood disability research and help shape the development of CP-TRAIN resources.
