SUMMARY:Brandon Carrell Visiting Professorship
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the 47th anniversary of the Brandon Carrell Visiting Professorship from Friday\, June 6\, through Saturday\, June 7. \nPresented by the staff of the Orthopedic Department at Scottish Rite for Children. Program Director: Harry Kim\, M.D.\, M.S. \n\n\nThis one-and-a-half-day course will focus on state-of-the-art treatment protocols and current research conducted by the residents\, fellows and staff physicians at Scottish Rite for Children. The program will utilize case presentations and a question/answer format. Faculty are also invited from across the country to share their research and practice protocols. Ample time will be allocated for discussion between the audience and the faculty. This year we are happy to have Dr. Kishore Mulpuri as our Visiting Professor. \n  \n\n\nDr. Kishore Mulpuri is the Professor and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of British Columbia\, as well as a Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at British Columbia Children’s Hospital (BCCH). He completed his medical and orthopaedic training at Kasturba Medical College in Manipal\, India\, prior to pursuing orthopaedic fellowships at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide\, Australia and the Melbourne Orthopedic Group and Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne\, Australia. \n  \n\n \n\nThe University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center designates this live activity for a maximum of 10.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

DESCRIPTION:Scottish Rite for Children and The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center are proud to present the 26th Annual Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics: Topics for Primary Care: \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Topics: \nSleep and Social Determinants of Health \nCost: Registration CME fee is $150 for the Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Conference. \nTarget Audience: \nThis course is designed for pediatricians\, family practitioners\, and advanced practice providers delivering direct care to children. \nPurpose & Content: \nThe one-day conference will highlight common developmental-behavioral conditions\, their etiology\, identification and management\, and feature opportunities to apply knowledge in clinical situations. \nMethod: \nThe program will utilize case studies and question/answer format in addition to PowerPoint presentations. \nObjectives: \nUpon completion of the activity participants should be able to: \n\nDifferentiate underlying causes of sleep disturbance in children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disabilities to better guide treatment decisions.\nExplain behavioral and pharmacological treatments to address acute and chronic sleep disorders in children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disabilities.\nRecognize the ethical dilemma of disparities in social determinants of language development and the association with disparities in developmental and educational outcomes for marginalized children.\nDescribe how clinicians can use evidence-based strategies to address social determinants of language development.\n\n  \nAccreditation: \nThis activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint provider ship of The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Scottish Rite for Children.
