University of Southern California Football Team Visits Scottish Rite for Children

The University of Southern California Trojans took a break from their preparations for the 87th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic to visit patients and their families at Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas.

The visit began with a welcoming from Scottish Rite President and Chief Executive Officer, Robert L. Walker, who briefed the team about the pediatric orthopedic hospital. USC head coach Lincoln Riley then presented honorary captain Keegan Ratliff with a custom USC Trojans jersey.

Doncic hosted a holiday party at Scottish Rite for Children through his charity, the Luka Doncic foundation, to provide gifts, games and activities for about 200 pediatric patients in Dallas.

NBC DFW: Annual Cookies and Castles Event Raises Money for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital

Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children was recently transformed into a scene from “Candyland”.

The annual Cookies and Castles, organized by the Dallas Alumnae Chapter of Delta Delta Delta hosted hundreds of families and boasted 6,000 pounds of candy. Kids spent the day decorating gingerbread houses and gingerbread men for a good cause. Now in its 12th year, the event has raised more than $500,000 for the hospital’s prosthetic department.

Scottish Rite Hospital is gearing up for its signature Treasure Street fundraiser on Thursday.

Niven Morgan and Shelby Wagner are the co-chairs of the Texan-themed evening, and Ginny and Randy Bailey are the honorary chairs.

About 1,000 people are expected to stroll the pediatric hospital’s grounds, bid on auction items and sample drinks and bites donated by area restaurants, including Campisi’s, Haystack Burgers & Barley, Mesero, Matt’s Rancho Martinez, Parigi and Paul Martin’s American Grill.
