Whitney M. Herge, Ph.D.

Whitney M. Herge, Ph.D., is a pediatric psychologist at Scottish Rite for Children. She received her master’s degree from the American University (Washington, DC) and earned her doctoral degree in pediatric psychology at the University … of Miami. Throughout her training, she has worked with children in outpatient medical clinics, such as interdisciplinary diabetes, craniofacial and hearing loss clinics, as well as inpatient care units, schools and outpatient mental health centers. Herge completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Mailman Center for Child Development in Miami, FL, working with a variety of interdisciplinary teams including completing juvenile justice mitigation evaluations, providing consultation-liaison care in diabetes and adolescent health clinics, and working with children with developmental differences at an early childhood center. She completed her supervised postdoctoral work at a private practice in Miami, FL, working with children, adolescents and families. Her interests are in integrated practice and care, psychosocial screening and preparation prior to major medical intervention and the development of psychological treatment guidelines for patients preparing for limb lengthening and reconstruction.
