Website Privacy Policy

This website privacy policy describes how Scottish Rite for Children (“Scottish Rite,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) may collect, use, or disclose personal information including through websites that link to this privacy policy, such as http://www.scottishriteforchildren.org/ and https://plannedgiving.scottishriteforchildren.org/ (collectively, the “Services”). Please read this privacy policy before using the Services or submitting any personal information. By using the Services, you are acknowledging the practices described in this privacy policy.

Privacy of Patient Information

Please note, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) regulates and limits the use and disclosure of your protected health information, such as information gathered in the treatment of Scottish Rite patients. For details on how Scottish Rite protects the privacy of its patients, please see our Notice of Privacy Practices.

Personal Information Gathered on the Scottish Rite Website

While you are visiting the Services, Scottish Rite generally collects two types of information about users: “Personal Information” (such as name, email address, mailing address, phone, credit card or debit card, personal preferences and other account-related information) and “Aggregate Information” (such as information about how many users log on to the website on a daily basis). Aggregate Information does not personally identify a specific user.

We may collect Personal Information when you request information, purchase our products or services, submit an application to volunteer, donate, or otherwise use the Services.

We may use “Cookies” to collect certain information. For example, Cookies may contain information to remind the website of you the next time you visit. We may use Cookies to provide functionality to the Services, track usage, help us route traffic between servers, customize your experience when you are visiting the website, and for advertising purposes. By tracking usage, Scottish Rite can best determine what features of the website best serve the users.

Certain advertising tracking technology vendors may participate in the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”) AdChoices Program and may display an Advertising Option Icon for Interest-based Ads that links to an opt-out tool which allows you to exercise certain choices regarding targeting. You can learn more about the DAA AdChoices Program at http://www.youradchoices.com/. In addition, certain advertising networks and exchanges we work with may participate in the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”). The NAI has developed a tool that allows consumers to opt-out of certain ads delivered by the NAI members’ ad networks. To learn more about opting out of such targeted advertising or to use the NAI tool, see http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/.

Please be aware that, even if you are able to opt-out of certain kinds of interest-based ads, you may continue to receive non-targeted ads.

You may be able to adjust your browser settings to remove or reject Cookies. Some browsers may have a “Do Not Track” setting. Please note that the Services are not designed to respond to “Do Not Track” settings.
