Flavio D. Silva, M.D., Ph.D.

Flavio D. Silva, M.D., Ph.D. is a staff radiologist at Scottish Rite for Children. He earned his medical degree and completed his clinical training at the Federal University of São Paulo in Brazil, where he also earned his doctorate. Dr. Silva completed clinical fellowships in musculoskeletal radiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and the Federal University of São Paulo. Additionally, he completed research and observing fellowships in musculoskeletal radiology at the University of Miami, New York University, and Université Paris Descartes. With more than 20 years in medicine, Dr. Silva has also contributed to a significant body of peer-reviewed publications and abstracts in musculoskeletal radiology. His research focuses on advanced MRI applications, sports injuries, musculoskeletal infections, rheumatologic diseases and spine disorders, with an emphasis on improving diagnostic accuracy and patient care. His professional affiliations include the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the Paulista Society of Radiology and the European Society of Radiology.
