YMCA Basketball

Take a few minutes to read about tips to support your young baller and learn about our partnership with the Dallas Mavericks youth program, the Mavs Academy. In partnership with the Dallas Mavericks, Scottish Rite for Children continues to look for ways to reach youth and keep them active and healthy. We have supported the Mavs Academy team promoting safety and wellness with participants in their programs.

Warm Up for Basketball the RITE Way
There is not really a “right” or “wrong” way to warm-up but think of it rather as a productive and unproductive way, or a helpful versus less helpful way. A proper dynamic warm-up should increase mobility of the muscles and joints being used and should incorporate movements that are specific to your sport. Learn more about a dynamic warm-up from sports physical therapist Jessica Penshorn, P.T., D.P.T., A.T.C., L.A.T.
