Recognized as leaders within pediatric orthopedics, our team of experts are regularly invited to travel internationally to share their knowledge with others in the field. From presenting their latest original research to leading lectures for various topics, we are proud to have a dedicated group to advance the care provided to our patients.

This week, pediatric orthopedic surgeon Henry B. Ellis, M.D., is attending the 42nd annual scientific meeting for the Singapore Orthopaedic Association (SOA). The inaugural meeting took place in 1967 and throughout the decades, SOA has grown from ten members to over 100. The conference gathers specialists within orthopedics from different areas of the globe to share the most recent treatment techniques. 

Among a handful of his peers from the Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine Society (PRiSM), Ellis is leading the pre-meeting workshop – techniques in pediatric sports. The full-day, hands-on course includes formal instruction, lab demonstrations and discussions regarding the repair of an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. In addition, Ellis has several presentations during the pediatric sports symposium section of the meeting. Below are the topics he is covering:

• How to perform ACL reconstruction for skeletally immature patients
• How to perform an patellofemoral assessment 
• How to perform a medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction
• What is the difference of elbow osteochondritis dissecans and elbow osteochondrosis (Panner’s disease)

We are dedicated to helping these kids return safely to their sport and will continue our research to impact the treatment for patients here and around the world.”
