Get to Know our SRH Staff: Cadie Ranson, Ambulatory Care
What is your role at the hospital? What do you do on a daily basis?
I am the ambulatory care clinical coordinator for the licensed vocational nurses. I also work with Dr. Sucato and Dr. Riccio. Day-to-day, I am either in the clinics or at the desk taking care of patient phone calls, making sure the clinic is fully prepped or any other tasks that need to be done for the patients. I also have manager duties as well, but the clinic is one of my favorite parts of my job. I love getting to take care of patients and see their families.
What led you to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children? How long have you worked here?
I have worked at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children for almost 12 years. I went to nursing school at Navarro College. I met Charles Whetstone at a nursing school luncheon and started talking to him about Scottish Rite Hospital and he encouraged me to apply.
What do you enjoy most about Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children?
My patients. The bond that you have with your patients and families is indescribable. Taking care of these amazing kids is such a blessing. I am very grateful to get to do what I do every day.
What was your first job? What path did you take to get here?
My first job was a bank teller. I attended nursing school at Navarro College and after I graduated, I applied at the hospital. This was my first job after nursing school.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Spend time with family and friends
Three words to best describe you:
Loyal, compassionate and a small town girl
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
Work with animals at a veterinary clinic
What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
Parasailing
