Meet Kiley – a research coordinator who has been working at the hospital for the past 2 years. Get to know more about her in our SRH Staff Spotlight below.

What’s your favorite part of your job?
Making a difference in a child’s life. I truly believe we are discovering new and innovative ways to provide the best quality of care for our patients.

What’s your favorite thing about the hospital?
The people! Everyone at Scottish Rite Hospital is so incredible and child-focused. I truly appreciate everyone’s dedication- it’s very inspiring.

Describe a typical day.
My main focus is in scoliosis research. A large portion of my day is spent following up with current research patients or enrolling new participants into our studies. If I’m not down in clinic, you will most likely find me at my desk working on a very large and upcoming spine study under the guidance of Dr. Sucato.

How did you find out about the hospital?
I began volunteering for Camp Joint Adventure, a week long summer camp for Scottish Rite Hospital patients with juvenile arthritis, about 9 years ago and fell in love with the mission of the hospital.

What made you want to work here?
I’ve had the privilege of working in multiple departments within the hospital, and everyone is terrific to work with.

What skills do you need for your job?

What was your first job? What path did you take to get here?
I tutored quite a bit and was a teaching assistant in college for physiology, anatomy, and neurobiology. I always knew I wanted to work in the field of science and had a great interest in the spine.
