Get to Know our SRH Staff: Kim Howard, Grounds

What is your role at the hospital? What do you do on a daily basis? 
I manage the hospital grounds, which includes landscaping and maintenance of the campus. I also manage the grounds staff and would like to thank them (Josh, Zach, Victor and Gregory) for the hospital's first and last impression. 
 
What led you to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children? How long have you worked here? 
I answered a newspaper ad back in 1989. I've been here for 30 years. 
 
What do you enjoy most about Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children?
The family atmosphere, the camaraderie, the pride and the Masonic organization. 
 
What was your first job? What path did you take to get here?
I joined the Army and after I was discharged, I did groundskeeping for Jack in the Box. I then moved to the North Texas area, met my wife and answered the newspaper ad for Scottish Rite Hospital. 
 
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Play golf 

Three words to best describe you:
 Loyal, reliable and accountable 

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
Welding or other construction type of work. 

What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
Joining the Army.
