Get to Know our SRH Staff: Sandi Greenberg, RN, BLS, PALS and Ambulatory Care Summer Extern Coordinator

Sandi is a registered nurse who has been working at our hospital for 17 years. She is certified and specializes in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). In addition, Sandi is our Ambulatory Care Summer Extern Coordinator. Get to know more about her in our Staff Spotlight below.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
I have many favorites but working with the Summer Externs is one of my absolute highlights!
What’s your favorite thing about the hospital?
Our mission --- I love what we do for our patients and I consider the staff here and North Campus’ to be the cream of the crop!
Describe a typical day.
I really don’t have a “typical” day here at TSRH! I am involved in many projects with various departments on an ongoing basis.
How long have you worked here?
A total of 17 years as I worked here for 3 years, moved out of state, and returned almost 14 years ago. I haven’t looked back since!
How did you find out about the hospital?
I was teaching special education and many of my students were patients here. I actually brought one of my students to his clubfoot follow-up appointment, and that is how I discovered TSRH---that was many years ago!
What made you want to work here?
Following my career as a special education teacher and learning about the hospital during that time---well, it was just meant to be!
What skills do you need for your job?
Nursing, communication, patience, personable, and the ongoing love of pediatrics!
What was your first job?What path did you take to get here?
My first nursing job was at Medical City.
What is your favorite…
o Hospital event: Western Day
o Food in the cafeteria: Fried Okra
o Place in the hospital: The inpatient unit and the clinic level

o Place to travel: Israel

If you could have a super power, what would it be?
Healing
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A veterinarian
What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
Serving as the nurse for 200 teenagers on a trip to Poland and Israel.
What’s the last book you read?
Miracle Mindset by J. J. Virgin
What kind of animal would you be?
A sea otter
How long is your commute? What do you do on the drive?
My commute is 20-30 minutes. I usually listen to music
What is something people don’t know about you?
I graduated from the University of Georgia and moved to Texas without knowing anyone!
