Get to Know our SRH Staff: Silvia Fierro, Patient Access

What is your role at the hospital? What do you do on a daily basis?
I work in Patient Access for the Sports Medicine clinic at the Frisco campus. My day consists of scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out and other patient interactions.

What do you enjoy most about Scottish Rite for Children?

I enjoy the interactions I have with families. I love to see patients leave with a smile on their face. It is nice to know that when they leave us, they are one step closer to getting back to playing the sport they love!

What was your first job? What path did you take to get here? How long have you worked here?

My very first job was at a Subway making footlong subs. About four years ago, I was an evening volunteer at the Dallas campus. A friend that I met through the hospital mentioned this position. I applied, got the job and have been here for almost two years.

What are you currently watching on Netflix?
I alternate between true crime documentaries and The Simpsons

What is a fun or interesting fact about your hometown?

I am originally from Hobbs, New Mexico. There are not many interesting facts about Hobbs, other than it is also the birthplace of football player, Colt McCoy.

What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not working?
I like to stay active - go for walks, jog or ride bikes. I also have a newborn nephew and I am obsessed with cuddling and loving on him!
