Get to Know our Staff: Andi Pendleton

What is your job title/your role at Scottish Rite for Children?
I am a certified pediatric nurse practitioner and serve as the orthopedic, hand and rheumatology advanced practice provider (APP) manager.

What do you do on a daily basis or what sort of duties do you have at work?
As an APP, I work with the physicians and nursing staff to see patients during their outpatient visits. I do a lot of clubfoot management and work closely with the foot and ankle team, taking care of our pediatric and adolescent patients who have foot and ankle deformities. I also do solo clinics and work with the other APPs in our independent clinics.

What was your first job? What path did you take to get here or what led you to Scottish Rite? How long have you worked here?
My first job was as an R.N. in the PICU at Children’s Hospital of Oklahoma. My first experience with Scottish Rite was when I did a clinical rotation during pediatric nurse practitioner school. Several years later I interviewed for an open position as an advanced practice provider in orthopedics, and now I have been here for 17 years.

What do you enjoy most about Scottish Rite?
I enjoy seeing the patients and their families. It is really nice when we are able to talk during clinic visits, and I am able to get to know them.

What energizes you outside of work?
Anything active and outside.

Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
I am definitely an introvert.

What kind of music do you like? What’s the best concert you’ve been to?
My favorite kind of music is rock and roll, and the best concert that I’ve been to was Billy Idol at the House of Blues.

What’s the top destination on your must-visit list?
I have so many locations on my must-visit list that I can't pick just one.
