Get to Know our Staff: Camille Realivasquez

What is your job title / your role at Scottish Rite for Children?
I am a nurse coordinator in Frisco in General Orthopedics. Most of my time is spent with patients with scoliosis and also other general orthopedic concerns.

What do you do on a daily basis or what sort of duties do you have at work?
I help prepare for clinics in advance, assist the providers during patient appointments and follow up with any questions/referrals/imaging after appointments. I also help coordinate and schedule surgeries.

What was your first job? What path did you take to get here or what led you to Scottish Rite? How long have you worked here?
My first job was as the sterilization tech for an orthodontist’s office. I always knew I wanted to do something in medicine. I realized that I wanted to be a nurse in high school when I took a class that let me rotate through various medical fields and shadow different roles. I have been at Scottish Rite for almost two years.

What do you enjoy most about Scottish Rite?
The common goal - everyone that you come in contact with is also working to give kids back their childhood. It is so awesome to see this in action on a daily basis!

What energizes you outside of work?
Being with my family, being out in nature and going on random adventures.

What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
Be grateful for what you have and you will always be happy! I can’t remember where I heard this advice, but it has always come in handy.

What’s the top destination on your must-visit list?
Tahiti - I have always wanted to stay in one of those bungalows over the water.

What’s one hobby you’d love to get into?
Glassblowing. I once took a paperweight making class, and it was so much fun! I am always impressed by the amount of skill put into those types of projects. I would like to take additional classes to be able to make bigger pieces.
