Get to Know our Staff: Carlton Scott, Security

What is your job title/your role at Scottish Rite for Children?  
I am a security assistant and work to protect the organization’s property, employees and all of our patients and visitors.  
 
What do you do on a daily basis or what sort of duties do you have at work? 
I actively patrol different assigned areas to prevent and detect crime. I also compile and analyze information verified or provided by the vendor/visitor, as well as work with vendors/visitors on their background checks.  
 
What was your first job? What path did you take to get here or what led you to Scottish Rite? How long have you worked here?
My first job was as a server. I then became a culinary assistant at St Joseph’s Christus Village. After that, I worked for a third-party security company, and we were occasionally  assigned to Scottish Rite. I’ve been full-time at Scottish Rite since January 2016. 
 
What do you enjoy most about Scottish Rite?
I really love being a part of putting a smile on the kids’ faces! 
 
Tell us something about your job that others might not already know. 
My department consists of great individuals that always put their best foot forward. 
 
What energizes you outside of work?
My Siberian Husky, he’s always wanting to go for a run. 
 
What’s your favorite sport to watch and which team do you root for?
I love to watch football and cheer for my beloved Green Bay Packers. Go Pack Go!
 
What is special about the place you grew up?
I grew up in East Texas. Whenever I go back, it is a nice, peaceful place to slow down and enjoy nature. 
 
What’s the top destination on your must-visit list?
The Netherlands
