Get to Know our Staff: Chuck Wyatt, Sports Medicine

What is your role? What do you do on a daily basis?
I am a sports medicine and orthopedics nurse practitioner and also manage the advance practice providers in Frisco. I have sports medicine clinics at the Frisco campus as well as at The Star. I also assist Dr. Wilson in the OR and dabble in research with the remainder of my time.

What led you to Scottish Rite for Children? How long have you worked here?
I began working with Scottish Rite orthopedic surgeons as a nurse practitioner in 2003, at Children's Medical Center. I formally joined Scottish Rite in 2014.

What do you enjoy most about Scottish Rite?
As an employee, I truly enjoy the incredible family atmosphere. As a clinician, educator and researcher, I’m fortunate and honored to practice with the very best pediatric orthopedic surgeons in the world.

What was your first job?
I bussed tables at a little Italian place in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. As soon as I graduated nursing school, I moved to Dallas with my best friend.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Besides spending time with my beautiful wife and two daughters, I enjoy wing shooting, bay fishing, golfing and training bird dogs.

Three words to best describe you:
Short, stocky, balding

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I would be a veterinarian.

What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
I once rode a bull in a Pentecostal rodeo in Noxapater, Mississippi.
