Get to Know our Staff: Emily Interrante, Pharmacy

What is your job title/your role at Scottish Rite for Children?
Pharmacist
 
What do you do on a daily basis or what sort of duties do you have at work? 
As a pharmacist, I work with our providers, nurses and other clinical staff to make sure all medication therapy is safe and appropriate. I also dispense the discharge prescriptions for our patients so they can have what they need for recovery at home.
 
What was your first job? What path did you take to get here or what led you to Scottish Rite?
My first job was actually at Scottish Rite as a pharmacy technician, right before I started pharmacy school. I am also a former patient of Dr. Herring, a Legacy Scholar and served as a Junior Volunteer. I always knew I wanted to become a pharmacist and work at Scottish Rite.

How long have you worked here?
A little over a month.
 
What do you enjoy most about Scottish Rite?
Our inspiring patients.
 
What energizes you outside of work?
Relaxing and cheering for the Baylor Bears with my English Bulldog, Meech.
 
What’s your favorite sport to watch and which team do you root for?
Baylor Bears basketball and football!
 
What is special about the place you grew up?
I grew up in a Dallas suburb and I am the third generation in my family to attend my high school.
 
What kind of music do you like? What’s the best concert you’ve been to?
I have traveled around the country to 12 Jonas Brothers concerts. 
 
What’s the top destination on your must-visit list
I have been to Paris, but I would love to see more of France.
