What is your role at Scottish Rite for Children?
I am a member of the Empower EpicCare Ambulatory team. We support the ambulatory electronic medical record application. We also customize Epic to make it work for providers, nurses and support staff for their specific workflows.
What led you to Scottish Rite? How long have you worked here?
Prior to coming here, I worked at another local children's hospital. I heard about the opportunity from a provider at Scottish Rite and I immediately applied for the job. I have been here for almost five years and love it!
What do you enjoy most about Scottish Rite?
The mission and the atmosphere are amazing. It is clear that the organization is all about children. Everyone is so friendly, and we are definitely a tight knit family.
What was your first job? What path did you take to get here?
My very first job was in Ukraine. I graduated from a nursing school and worked at an orthopedic trauma hospital in Donetsk, Ukraine.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to cook, bake, garden and do anything that is artistic.
Three words to best describe you:
Curious, artistic, driven
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I would be a pastry chef or a food stylist.
What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
I think the most interesting and adventurous thing I have done is coming to the United States at the age of 20. I learned a new language, adapted to a new culture and worked to build my life here.
