Get to Know our Staff: Jose Guajardo, Facilities

What is your role at Scottish Rite for Children?
Facility Team Manager

What do you do on a daily basis?
I manage and supervise four of the Scottish Rite facility teams. These teams are involved in the facility’s construction projects and handle all of the work order requests made throughout the Dallas campus. An occasional oversight at the Frisco location is also required.

What was your first job? What path did you take to get here? How long  have you worked here?
I was initially introduced to Scottish Rite through my job assignments with BECK General Commercial Contractors. I completed many work projects at our current location before being offered a position as the maintenance engineer in 2003. I have been serving in the Engineering/Construction departments at Scottish Rite for 18 years.

What do you enjoy most about Scottish Rite for Children?
I have always enjoyed the culture and our work environment. It's great to know that the commitment to my job is ultimately creating a safe and upbeat facility, which brings a smile and positive experience to each patient and their family while visiting our campus.

What’s your favorite place to eat around here?
I love Mexican food—Herrera’s as well as the Scottish Rite cafeteria.

What’s something—big or small—that you’re really good at?
I like to work on the landscaping around my new home, as well as spend time with my family. I also enjoy fishing when I am able.

Is there something that has made you smile recently?
I was just able to watch my grandson run in his first track meet!
