Get to Know our Staff: Lacy Wisdom, Inpatient Nursing Unit

What is your role at Scottish Rite for Children? What do you do on a daily basis or what sort of duties do you have at work?
I am a registered nurse on the inpatient unit and we primarily care for the kiddos after they have had surgery.

What path did you take to get here or what led you to Scottish Rite?
My first job was working at Sonic as a carhop. Prior to working at Scottish Rite for Children, I worked as a licensed vocational nurse (LVN) in a pediatric outpatient clinic. When I went back to school for my nursing (RN) degree, I knew I wanted to continue working with children and was incredibly lucky to find Scottish Rite. I’ve been here for almost 6 years.

What do you enjoy most about Scottish Rite?
My favorite part about Scottish Rite is definitely the children. I also love that all of the staff really feel like one big family!

Who is your hero, and why?
My grandmother! She is the exact type of person and mother I strive to be.

What is your favorite sport to watch?
Either baseball or football.

If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go?
That’s tough! I would have to choose between Switzerland and Scotland!

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would love a huge beach house with all of my family!

If you could live in any period of history, when would it be?
I honestly don’t know... the thought of not having modern day amenities makes me cringe.

If you could host a talk show, who would be your first guest?
Britney Spears

What is the most important personal attribute that you bring to your job?
I like to think that I am fun!

What is one of your favorite hobbies?
I love reading!

If you could have a dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
I would choose my grandfather simply because I miss him.

If you could do anything besides being a nurse, what would you do?
Can staying at home and online shopping all day count as a job?
