Get to Know our Staff: Sherry Gilbert, Patient Access

What is your role at Scottish Rite for Children?
I am a patient access representative.

What do you do on a daily basis?
My job duties include registering patients when they arrive for their appointment, updating their demographics and then uploading and verifying their insurance. I also follow up on upcoming appointments and mail new patient letters/follow-up letters.

What path did you take to get here?
It was at an early age when I realized my passion for taking care of others. I received my CNA (certified nursing assistant) certificate at the Nurses Aid Academy. Helping others gives me a sense of accomplishment that no words can express. My heart fills with joy when I am able to help people do things that they might not be able to accomplish otherwise.

What do you enjoy most about Scottish Rite?
I love the care and commitment that Scottish Rite stands for. I am incredibly proud to be part of an organization that goes above and beyond for the children and the families we serve.

What’s your favorite place to eat around here?
Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen or Buffalo Wild Wings

What’s do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I enjoy gardening, riding my bike and going to cookouts.

What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
My mother, a pot for cooking and a lighter to start a fire.

Are you a sports fan? Who are your favorite teams?
I am the Dallas Cowboys number one fan!
