Get to Know our Staff: Stephanie Anderson-Cooper, Pharmacy

What is your job title/your role at Scottish Rite for Children?  
I am a pharmacy inventory technician and assist the pharmacist in daily functions, as well as process medications and supervise the Omnicell carousel and software operations. I manage the physical and financial inventory process, report and assist with sterile IV compounding and provide support for narcotics, medication trays and other customer service functions.

What do you do on a daily basis or what sort of duties do you have at work? 
I order medication for the Pharmacy department and oversee the receipt and storage of those products. I map synonyms, process invoices, accurately maintain Omnicell inventory and provide designated reports. I also assist in prescription order entry, medication assembly, Omnicell pulling/restocking and coordinating initial and ongoing inventory related training.

What was your first job? What path did you take to get here or what led you to Scottish Rite? How long have you worked here?
I have always loved working with kind and my first job was at a daycare. While attending college and earning a business degree, I worked as a pharmacy technician at St. Joseph’s Hospital. After working there for a few years, I moved to Dallas and started working at Zale Lipshy Hospital. I have been at Scottish Rite for Children for 14 years.

What do you enjoy most about Scottish Rite?
The pandemic has changed the manner in which we interact, but I love the bond that I have with our patients and families. The kids make me smile daily.

Tell us something about your job that others might not already know. 
I have worked in this field for 33 years. 

Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?
My kids and husband. I don’t need much more than that, I am a very simple person.

What is something that always makes you smile?
Being with my family. My husband and I have been married for 23 years and we have 2 daughters, ages 14 and 11. 

What’s one fun fact about yourself? 
My favorite color is green and I love to collect clocks.
