Get to Know our Staff: Victory Moreno, Inpatient Nursing Unit
What is your role at Scottish Rite for Children?
I am a registered nurse on the inpatient unit.
What do you do on a daily basis?
I take care of patients on the inpatient unit. Most of my patients are recovering from surgery, so I make sure they are stable and have adequate pain control post-operative. I provide a lot of patient/family education and I work with many interdisciplinary teams to provide the best recovery for patients.
What was your first job? What path did you take to get to Scottish Rite? How long have you worked here?
My first job was at Chick-fil-A. While I was in nursing school, I applied for a nurse extern position at Scottish Rite for Children and I was selected just prior to my last semester. After spending the summer on the inpatient unit, I knew I really wanted to work here when I graduated! I have been here for almost four years.
What do you enjoy most about Scottish Rite for Children?
What I love most about Scottish Rite is that we are able to provide hope for families looking for help. It is truly amazing to see the transformation and endless possibilities our patients are able to achieve.
What’s your favorite place to eat around here?
Pie Tap Pizza Tavern is one of my favorites.
What’s something—big or small—that you’re really good at?
I have been doing CrossFit for a few years. I am not really good at it by any means, but I do enjoy it.
Do you have a pet? What’s he/she like?
I have a miniature schnauzer named Ray. He is very playful and hyper!
Is there something that has made you smile recently?
There is always something to smile about here at Scottish Rite! My patients, families and coworkers are all so fun and put a smile on my face daily.
