Get to Know our Staff: Sierra Kirkpatrick, Fracture
What is your job title/your role at Scottish Rite?
As an orthopedic technician, I help with casting patients.
What is the most fulfilling part of your job?
I love working with the patients and their families.
What makes Scottish Rite a special place to you?
The overall mission of the hospital is something I hold near and dear to my heart.
What made you choose a career in health care?
I know it sounds a little cliché, but my favorite thing is helping people and it brought me to health care.
What is something unique you get to do in your position?
Getting to cast kids and fix their bones!
What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work?
Outside of work, I like to play golf and also do leatherworking.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I have many, such as hitting the griddy with patients, making up songs in the cast room and keeping up with current lingo.
Where are you from and what brought you to DFW?
I’m originally from Emory, Texas, and I came to the DFW area for the opportunity to work at Scottish Rite.
What movie do you think everyone should watch at least once?
Fried Green Tomatoes
What was the first concert you attended?
I saw Tim McGraw live!
Favorite DFW hidden gem?
The Ivory Tavern
If you were to have a movie based on your life, which actress/actor would you choose to play your character?
I would pick Mary Stuart Masterson.
What is some advice you would give your younger self OR what’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
Like how Dory in Finding Nemo said, “just keep swimmin’!”
